Our Philosophies
"Risk Hidden is not Risk Managed"
We believe that for a business to be successful it must proactively identify, evaluate and manage risk. There are many assets at stake due to ineffective risk evaulation and control. We believe in identifying events that might act as triggers to the following:
- Loss of Life
- Physical Harm to Employees
- Physical Harm to the Environment
- Physical Harm to Community
- Loss of Employee Goodwill
- Damage to Reputation with Community
- Damage to Working Relationships with Regulators
- Loss of Facilities or Use of Facilites
- Inability to Honor Contracts
- Financial Loss or Underperformance
- Losses to Investors
Picture a serious injury, fatality, fire or chemical release at your facility. How long would it take to rebuild your reputation? How long would it take until you were allowed to operate again? We believe that a proactive attempt at identifying risks in compliance, regulatory trends, regional expectations, contracts, supply chain and resource usage is the best means of ensuring long term business sustainability.
"Leave No Trace"
A common phrase among backcountry hikers is to "leave no trace". The current trend in environmental management is very similar. First, control your activities to the maximum extent possible to prevent any harm to society. Secondly, where your activities do leave a trace, do your best to minimize it, and where possible, offset it in some other way. Another term for this is "Net Zero Impact".
